Bug Reports Here

OK, folks, we think we have all the bugs ironed out of the system. If you're still seeing a problem, submit a comment and we'll work on it.

Known issues:
* Some blogs have their feed in a file called "rss.xml". Some are Atom format, and some are RSS format. At the moment, the feed reader is struggling to differentiate between the two (yeah, we know, it's fixable) - so for the moment, we're manually flipping a switch. Let us know if you're one of 'em and your blog doesn't seem to be updating.

Update, 10/29:
* If your posts aren't showing up on LeftyBlogs.com, read this explanation. Any future "my posts aren't showing up!" comments and emails that don't reference this page will be ignored.

Update, 1/26:
* There's a new bug that just popped up from some Blogger blogs. Here's the explanation. We're working on it.

Update, 4/8:
* If your post belongs on the Local page for your state, and it's not there, you can help us improve the local content filter here.

Update, 5/11:
* If your blog has mysteriously "disappeared" from LeftyBlogs, don't panic. Some Blogger.com blogs are taking a very, very, very long time to update their RSS feeds. Read this, and then wait 24 hours before sending us a bug report. They almost always resolve themselves in a few hours.

More of a question, really: How does your aggregator differentiate between local and non-local content? Sometimes I see posts labeled local that aren't, and some that aren't that should be.

I figure it's an inexact science, and all, but I'm wondering what the system is.

Posted by folkbum on September 24, 2005 06:19 PM

Folkbum... That's been discussed at length here.

Short version: There's about 7000 keywords that we're tracking that tell us it's definitely local. (Counties, cities, mayors, statewide electeds, congressional reps and senators, etc.) It's far from perfect, and we're working on some new features to improve that. Stay tuned.

Posted by Kari Chisholm on September 25, 2005 12:41 AM

David: I've checked the Washington combined feed and your blog is coming through just fine. However, because of the way your blog is set up, the links don't often work.

I'll recommend that you ditch all the crazy frame stuff you've got going on in your design. Also, check your own RSS feed - it's often delivering bad URLs that don't lead to actual posts.

General thought: Every once in a while I come across a blog that's so badly designed or crammed with slow-loading Java widgets that sending readers there would be a disservice. Even if the content is good, if it's crashing browsers or impossible to read, we're going to reject it.

At some earlier time, we said this: Our first responsibility is to the readers of LeftyBlogs - not the bloggers. We'll do our damnedest to help the bloggers, but the readers come first.

Posted by Kari Chisholm on September 25, 2005 01:10 AM

Our feeds were coming through and posting just fine updating properly into local and non-local.

As of the most recent update all our posts seem to be gone.

What might be the cause?

Posted by David Harding on September 26, 2005 06:11 AM

As of the 9:04 update Our posts reappeared under not local and combined, but our local posts are still not displayed. Just checking if it might be a problem on our end.

my blog hasn't updated since saturday

Posted by Bill Christofferson on September 26, 2005 03:57 PM

David, looks like the system fixed itself.

Bill, there's something wrong with your feed at FeedBurner - it hasn't updated since Saturday.

One note for everybody: if your stuff isn't showing up - give it a few hours... sometimes there's an internet glitch out there that can cause your site's update to be delayed a few hours.

Posted by Kari Chisholm on September 26, 2005 10:42 PM

>because of the way your blog is set up,
>the links don't often work.

I've modified my feed to include new Permalinks, which I've verified. The old links were bad because of some weird thing with my rss editor. The primary link to the most recently updated entry, .../blog.html, opens inside a really simple frameset and is verified in MSIE and Firefox.

>David, looks like the system fixed itself.

I'm looking both in Combined and Not Local, and my feed hasn't updated since Sep. 21. Note that I verify my feed in Feedreader and Google Personalized Home Page. Not criticizing, I'm just sayin'.

Posted by David Gow on September 29, 2005 12:21 PM

David, every single link in your RSS goes to the same place.

<title>See me; feel me; indict me</title>
<link>http://kinetic.seattle.wa.us/nxtlevel/blog.html</link>

<title>Dear Leader by Kim Jong Il</title>
<link>http://kinetic.seattle.wa.us/nxtlevel/blog.html</link>

<title>"Quagmire is the new black, sweetie"</title>
<link>http://kinetic.seattle.wa.us/nxtlevel/blog.html</link>

Posted by Kari Chisholm on September 29, 2005 12:45 PM

Yes, it is the link to the most current entry. Is this the source of the update problem?

Posted by David Gow on September 29, 2005 12:53 PM

Your RSS should contain links to each of the entries at their permanent location. Take a look at the RSS for any other blog.

Otherwise, someone who reads your RSS and tries to go to a 10-day old post will wind up on your home page.

The URL for each blog post should be unique - that's what we use to index our database.

Question - what blogging software are you using that's doing this wrong? So far, yours is the only blog I've come across that doesn't do RSS right.

Posted by Kari Chisholm on September 29, 2005 01:12 PM

>someone who reads your RSS and tries to go
>to a 10-day old post will wind up on your
>home page.

At the moment I'm setting links to drive traffic to the main blog page. In the body of each feed entry there's a unique Permalink, which would show up if Leftyblogs published each rss entry in entirety (each of my rss entries is, usually, just an excerpt).

Now, for you I'd be happy to give each entry the Permalink, as you seem to want. But I was noticing that each entry in Leftyblogs has two links, as in:

Defending Progressive Values in Snohomish County
[Text]
WashBlog - 1:09 p.m.

The thing is, both links are always identical. Shouldn't the second one be to the main blog page?

Posted by David Gow on September 29, 2005 01:27 PM

OK, here ya go.
kinetic.seattle.wa.us/blogfeed.xml

each Item Link is now unique;
the Channel Title Link is my main blog URL.

Posted by David Gow on September 29, 2005 02:31 PM

Not sure if you have a problem with identifying local postings. This one, "I-912 Republican Flip-Flop Politics" at http://www.kirkdorffer.com/ontheroadto2008/2005/09/i-912-republican-flip-flop-politics.shtml is in the "not local" category, but it is definitely local.

My blog posts were getting categorized as local, but are now being categorized as "non-local".

Since my blog covers one township in Cook County, virtually all of it should be categorized as local content.

For example the last dozen posts are about:
1. school board to fire superintendent
2. school board pres to announce for state rep
3. Wal-Mart and poor Blacks
4. a local radio call-in show
5. media coverage of the new teacher contract
6. liquor license for local Citgo
7. two communities litigating over ownership of National Guard facility
8. two local schools implementing national anti-obesity program
9. municipality using prostitution sting as shakedown
10. local gov't contractor subpoena'd
11. lawsuit by school board prez against me
12. hearing on cop being fired

All of these should have been classified as local with the possible exception of the Wal-Mart discussion. But your new algorithm is classifying all my stuff as "non-local".

If you want to cheat, just label all my content as local, because I don't write about national or international stuff on Proviso Probe.

Posted by Carl Nyberg on November 5, 2005 02:45 PM

I put your code into my blog a long time ago (like a month?) and still none of my posts come up on your blog. In fact, my blog isn't even listed on your blog. What gives?

Posted by Moi on November 15, 2005 06:36 PM

In the Kansas area http://www.theantisam.com/feed/ is not updating.

This is a wordpress blog, but it did update originally. Most, if not all, of the posts include our senator's name (Brownback) so I would imagine they would make it past the filter.

Posted by Kari Chisholm on November 24, 2005 09:15 AM

Great site!
This is related to a "my posts are not showing" but a little different. And I have gone to the linked page, http://www.leftyblogs.com/blog/2005/10/your_posts_not.html.
Basically for the North Carolina content. The local page from time to time will empty all but one sites posts. The rest of the posts, which were previously showing the local section, will at that point show only in the non-local section. The problem will usually correct itself the next time I look, but it is a little annoying to check the page have it be empty.

Thanks.

In the Idaho blog section, the Political Game is listed twice. Could you please fix this?

Posted by Tara Rowe on December 4, 2005 09:17 PM

In addition to a number of sites not updating (Blogononymous hasn't been read in 18 hours), it appears as if there are problems with the way Atom feeds are being processed. Most of my posts update with no summary content, and posts that are obviously local in nature don't make it onto the CA local page. (I assume that BART - Bay Area Rapid Transit, would be considered a local CA topic.)

This site is great, and so much potential. Thank you for listing our IL DFA site - http://www.democracyforillinois.org
2 questions...

1. How do we get added to the 'Democracy for...' listing or how do we know if we are there?

2. Are there RSS feeds for each group, like all local Illinois content?

Thank you,
William Maggos

You're welcome!

1. You've been added to the DF... area.

2. Nope - but you can add the BlogWire to your site:

That'll display the most recent 10-30 headlines from Illinois right there on your blog!

Can We get the Graphic Changed for the Porn Promo for MSNBC?

This is "Lefty" blogs right? We are supposed to respect women. I find the graphic offensive. They could use something else besides the outline of a naked, big busted woman to attract attention to their porn special. Hell, just the word PORN usually gets plenty of attention. Kari Chisolm, can we change the graphic?

Posted by Kankakee Voice on December 11, 2005 03:01 PM

Kankakee-- The graphic is changing daily. I suspect you're going to find that the whole point of the MSNBC ad campaign is to raise exactly the questions you're asking.

This is, btw, the biggest blog ad buy in history - with over 800 blogs in the mix.

Posted by Kari Chisholm on December 11, 2005 06:01 PM

Yeh, I know it's about the money and yep I understand that they are "making a point" by using the degrading graphics but it's hypocritical and I still find it offensive. I'm not a prude, hell I've got a few pics of women who chose to have themselves used as sexual fodder... but when I come to a website like leftyblogs, or Soapblox Chicago, a professed partisan Progressive blog, I expect a little more sensitivity for the women who are participants. Geez, the graphic this morning is even worse! SIGH...

Posted by Kankakee Voice on December 28, 2005 10:19 AM

I think you may need to add "hickenlooper" to the "local content" filter. There are a number of posts in the Colorado section about NARAL courting Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper to run for Governor in Colorado, but they are showing up as not local content.

Another good term (if you can limit it to Colorado) would be "Dobson", as James Dobson is behind the gay marriage ban we'll be fighting here in Colorado this year. Until the Alito hearings are over Dobson is likely to be brought up in posts about that topic, but post-hearings, at least in Colorado, I suspect it'll be all about the ban.

Posted by Michael Ditto on January 9, 2006 01:53 PM

Does your aggregator pick up "Joe Courtney"? Since he's the Dem running against Simmons for congress, it should. I noticed that a post of CT Blue with Joe Courtney in the headline didn't get picked up.

Posted by Mary on January 12, 2006 07:40 AM

Another Connecticut question. Just wondering if the name Lamont will be picked up by the aggregator. He's probably going to primary Joe Lieberman, so it should be. I noticed a CT Blue headlined "How Lamont Can Win" was not picked up.

Hey Kari,

My posts are picked up here (thanks!), but all I see is the title. What am I doing wrong? What do I have to do in order to have it display my opening paragraph like most other blogs?

If my paragraphs were being seen, my most recent post, which mentions Washington, Seattle, and Mt. Rainier (twice) in the first paragraph might make the "local content" cut.

Posted by N in Seattle on January 24, 2006 01:43 AM

For some reason, my posts haven't been submitted to the Wisconsin LeftyBlogs feed since Saturday. All the other members of the blogroll have been updated since then. The Atom feed url is http://milwaukee.blogspot.com/atom.xml if you would like to double check and make sure it is up to date.

Thanks much.

One of my posts called "NASCAR" is showing up in the side bar and on the feed as "nascar." The other ones seem to have the caps in the right place, so I don't know what's up with that.

Posted by Carl Ballard on January 25, 2006 10:03 PM

Any post that has all-caps gets converted to all-lowercase. There are a handful of bloggers out there that use EXCLUSIVELY ALL CAPS FOR ALL OF THEIR HEADLINES... and that's really annoying. Unfortunately side effect of whacking single-word all acronym headlines.

Posted by Kari Chisholm on January 25, 2006 10:43 PM

My posts haven't been showing up since Saturday 1/21. I looked into all the usual causes: checked both Local and Combined, my feed seems to be working properly and my stuff is showing up on other syndication feeds (Findory, Kinja, Chordata)

Love your service; it's given me a lot of traffic and I've found several good sites.

Looks like the same bug is affecting my connection to "leftyblogs Maryland": my blogroll listing says "last refresh" was on Jan 21, but I've had several posts since then.

Posted by Thomas Nephew on January 30, 2006 07:53 AM

Kari,

This isn't so much a technical problem as a style problem. The BlogWire installed on my blog no problem, but there's a big unsightly gap between the header and the text.

Is there a way to fix this?

The problem is viewable at www.flickertailjournal.com - I think it's something to do with conflicting CSS, maybe, because the LeftyBlogs headers won't appear, only the one I put in manually.

Posted by Ryan on January 30, 2006 09:39 AM

And they're all back now. Didn't do anything here -- just waited a bit.

When you see a problem, don't freak out, just give it an hour or two. LeftyBlogs is often self-healing.

Mostly, this is due to the vagaries of RSS, Atom, and the various feed formats. That, and weird internet belches that slow things down.

I've been learning a lot about how unreliable the net can be when you're trying to read and analyze 1300 blogs every 20 minutes. That's a massive amount of data.

Hi. The following article: Rainville, Domestic Spying, and the "Posse Comitatus" Loophole on Green Mountain Daily apparently did not get tagged on your Vermont keyword list as being local. It is very local, and is an attempt to get a conversation started, so I'm hoping you folks can include it. We get several hits from Lefty Blogs.

And I suggest that you add the names of prominent local pols to your keyword list for Vermont:
Rainville
Tarrant
Sanders
Welch
Shepard
Dunne
Tracy
Symington
Douglas
Dubie
Spaulding
Markowitz
Brock
Clavelle
Kiss
Pollina

Thanks a lot!

We haven't had any posts get picked up as "local" since Saturday. Has there been a change in the keywords or the logic? We are literally at the cusp of success at a long-sought after move for the Vermont Legislature to call on the US House to initiate impeachment hearings, and I hate to lose LeftyBlogs now. I suggested some keyword additions above, in the interest of trying to be helpful. Let me know if theres anything else I can do. Thanks.

My blog at http://swingstateohio.blogspot.com is no longer showing up in the Ohio section. It was showing up in both local and combined for a few days and now it is not. In fact, posts were even showing up a few hours ago.

Hi all- weird glitch I just noticed. My posts from my blog are appearing, but the titles are not. I haven't changed anything that I'm doing on this end- and it was working fine before.

Michigan- "for my amusement only"- showing up as "untitled" on the feed.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Kari,

Opposite problem to wizardkitten: for some reason only my blog titles are displaying for my blog entries at LeftyBlogs. I have the regular blogspot generated Atom feed (http://www.kirkdorffer.com/ontheroadto2008/atom.xml) and a Feedburner generated RSS feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/OnTheRoadTo2008) for you to work with. Both should be providing you with entry text to display.

Thanks.

One of my posts right now is in the national top 5 clicked, but is no where on the Massachusetts page. This is where I get a ton of my traffic from, so I need to be back!! Is it because I mentioned Paul Wellstone in a Massachusetts blog? Does that screw with the filtering? Please Help!

Ok, I admit that I now found my posts in the non-local combined section. Problem is, all of my posts "mention a city, a county, or a major elected official from your state" as you say in the explanation, yet they are no longer "flagged as local." So what gives.

Also, my favicon and post summaries aren't even appearing in the non-local section.

My Virginia blog posts have disappeared from "local only" but remain in Combined. This situation just occurred. Look at http://modernpatriot.blogspot.com/2006/04/efficacy-of-lie-and-politics-of.html and you'll see that the local keyword "Harris Miller" appears in the first line of the post. There are several other postings about Miller that have moved off local.

Hello --

I read your "read this explanation" page -- and it doesn't seem to answer my question...

Washblog posts aren't showing up anymore on the Washington page. I think our rss feed is fine because our posts are showing up fine on Northwest Progressive Portal (http://www.nwprogressive.org/portal/).

And I know it's not a question of content not being local, as the right keywords are there -- and a post this morning from another blog referencing a Washblog piece -- all the the same keywords -- does show up.

Oh, I see above that you're on it -- But the "more here" link doesn't work!

What can we do?

Thanks!

The anonymous blog on Maryland is clearly a right wing setup to make Democrats look foolish. The articles are ridiculous. For example the lead one blasts anyone who votes following the recommendations of the local teachers union. Another makes a baseless assertion of some unspecified vague incompetence for Montgomery County's normal practice of selling off abandoned cars that have been impounded. The person who maintains the blog is, understandably, anonymous and unreachable.

Posted by Moshe Haven on June 20, 2006 06:18 AM

Unblockable, anonymous calls. What organization is funding the anonymous calls like the one made by computer to my home to refer me to this site?

There is no information provided to get off the list, no identification of who is making the call, and certainly no means provided to get off the list. It feels like a right wing effort to alienate liberal voters, or a very foolish effort by a liberal supporter who hasn't thought through what they are doing with the technology.

Intruding into people's homes by phone with no way of stopping the calls is a modern version of what we used to call "dirty tricks" in the Nixon days.

Yes, this is identified with my name and real address. Come out of the darkness and identify yourself like a mentch instead of acting like a cowardly and ignorant deceiver.

Hi,

My feed is http://christinebarry.com/feed/. It has not refreshed since the morning of Saturday, 7-1. However, Saturday morning is when I installed (spamkiller) Bad Behavior V 1.2.4 plug-in for WordPress. I did not have any trouble with any of my other feeds, but perhaps it broke the leftyblogs refresh? I don't know if that's the problem with the refresh, but it's the only change that I made, and I've never had any trouble before with the leftyblogs feed.

I did some searching on this but never found any reference to spamkillers messing with the leftyblogs service.

I deactivated the plug-in several hours ago, to see if this will fix the problem.

Thanks for the great service, by the way, leftyblogs has been a great way for me to find good blogs as well as get traffic to my own.

My feed is http://ibzp.net/pohlitics/files/rss.xml (or, if it'll work, the feedburner link is http://feeds.feedburner.com/Pohlitics), and the main URL is http://www.pohlitics.com.

A link to one of my posts has appeared in the LeftyBlogs BlogWire for the first time today, but when you click on it, the link takes you to some crazy URL hosted through .mac (a service I don't even subscribe to).

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Kari,

I was just added, and I now know that the feed I gave you all doesn't work right... so feeds to my blog Marked Hoosier in Indiana can be by atom: http://markedhoosier.blogspot.com/atom.xml?bsuser=markedhoosier
or by feedburner: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MarkedHoosier.

Sorry for not giving you the right feed to begin with... I never really checked to see what worked and what didn't.

Since then my site only seems to refresh once every 30-48 hours. I have searched but cannot find any reason for this ... is there something I can do to fix this problem on my end? I know wordpress blogs may be slower to refresh, but I didn't have this problem before July 1. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my feed. Is there something I can tweak? Can you (anyone!) advise? Thanks, Christine

you said to let you akno (after reading the stuff below) and this is the only way I know how to contact you....

I also switched to blogspot BETA. The BETA has changed the feed from what Lefty blogs currently is using to

Hey there, I'm the blogger at johnbonifaz.com. My latest post, on election day registration, is in the combined feed for Massachusetts, but not local - even though the word "Massachusetts" is in the post itself (it's the start of a line of posts where I'm advocating for election day registration in Massachusetts and asking why we don't have it yet). So this isn't exactly a bug report, but I'm wondering why that post got tagged as non-local and what keywords you're using?

Hi,

I run http://www.capitalviewpoint.com and I'm on the Michigan blogroll. When I update my blog, for some reason it seems to add my blog entry to the BlogWire twice -- once to http://www.capitalviewpoint.com/[URL of entry], and once to http://capitalviewpoint.com/[URL of entry]

I know that this isn't a problem with my raw RSS feed, because it only updates once per new post ( http://www.capitalviewpoint.com/rss.xml ). Is there some way I can fix this to point to just the entries on my site with the "www" in the URL?

Thanks!

My feed is stalled out. Why? It works everywhere else.

Posted by Vince Leibowitz on December 19, 2006 09:42 PM

My site moved from www.andrewwarner.org to andrewwwarner.cincinnatibeacon.com and now the feed is not working. The feed did not change though and is working everywhere else.

How is this fixed?

Posted by Andrew Warner on December 23, 2006 08:08 AM

I have read "read this explanation" and it doesn't explain why my feed has stopped showing up.

The last update was November 14, and there have been a couple dozen posts since then. Nothing has changed with my feed, either.

If it's the problem with atom/rss thing, then I have a possible solution: we are now sending our feed through feedburner, and the new feedburner address is http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElohiGadugiJournal .

Posted by Duane Poncy on December 31, 2006 12:45 PM

My post today in Washington Combined hasn't shown up in the last two updates. I also notice that preview text has been dropped from my last few posts (notice this for a number of other bloggers too)

Posted by Mr_Blog on January 5, 2007 12:47 PM

Well now, that was a fast fix!

Posted by Mr_Blog on January 5, 2007 01:35 PM

My feed isn't getting picked up. Also, like Mr_Blog above me, the preview text has been dropped.

Posted by Vivian J. Paige on January 5, 2007 08:28 PM

Glad to see that my feed is being picked up (took me a while to find where I had posted the question) but I see that the preview text is not showing. And I still can't figure out what I am missing about getting the posts to show up in local. I tag them as local but they don't show there. Thanks!

Posted by Vivian J. Paige on January 6, 2007 11:52 AM

For awhile, now, none of my posts are being picked up, regardless of local content or not. I have a feeling that my feed to you is not working. What do i do? I am not too bright at this stuff. Thanks.

Posted by waxingamerica on January 7, 2007 08:55 AM

Thanks for getting my feed straightened out :) I guess I need to work on the local keywords more.

Posted by Vivian J. Paige on January 7, 2007 02:43 PM

Should I just give up? Yes I have read all of the explanations. Now what do I do? Is there something I can do to fix the feed problem at my end?

Hi Kari

Please check on the inclusion of our feed into Ohio.

It's been awhile since we submitted the feed.

THX!

I thought I did this right when I first submitted, but since my posts aren't showing up on the CA feed I decided to check into it, and lo and behold I screwed up.

For Black and Blue my feed link is:

This works for my Google homepage, and hopefully will work here as well.

Thanks.

The first one is the new blogger feed, the second one is the Atom feed that I have submitted before, and the third is my feedburneer feed which would be fine with me to use here.

Thanks.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I have a huge bug to report.

Mayor Sam's blog is a Conservative Republican blog, and should not be being promoted by Lefty Blogs.

Please remove this blog:
http://mayorsam.blogspot.com/

They are hateful vindictive trolls that parrot Republican talking points, and their entire blogroll contains Republican blogs, and nowhere on their site is the Lefty Blogs blogroll. This blog makes me sick everytime I see it pop up on the roll. The only reason they even submitted to the lefty blogs service seems to be because they have ten million ads on their site, which they can get more page views for if us lefties look at their site and comment on the trash they spew.

Please delete them.

Not sure where to post this, but a blog called "The Treatment" has been added to the Arizona blogroll. The blog is nothing more than a list of sites in what looks like Japanese script, rather than a blog about Arizona politics. Is there any way for us to easily report or remove this sort of "spam" from the blog roll?

On the Montana feed, there is a website called New West, which has sub-sites for several of the cities in Montana (Missoula, Bozeman, West Yellowstone, etc). Every time that site posts anything, it goes on the Blogwire three times(one for each city's site). It is pretty annoying to see all of the other content on the wire blown away by one or two posts that eat up the whole thing. Can you consolidate this? I understand the site's authors may want that information to show up on the feed for each site, but having it in triplicate on the blogwire is very frustrating.

Kari,

If you page back to October 10, 2006, you'll see the last time I wondered why LeftyBlogs *never* seems to catch my feeds. I'm still wondering.

I know I'm not a prolific blogger, but other low-count blogs (even some that died a long time ago) display a count of their posts. Peace Tree Farm is *still* shown with a blank where its post-count should be.

Lo

I don't know what to do to make it more local. Posts that I feel are just putting in names of newspapers, but aren't really local seem ok, but if you're local, local, because the names aren't as well known...I don't know, it seems weird.

ON the Oklahoma page, there are a couple of entries from Women in Black OKC. They show in the list as from April, but it was April 2005!!! That blog hasn't been updated for 2 years (until just now, when I followed those links and found spam, then created a new post just to say we aren't active.)

If there's anyway to remove them from the feed, would probably avoid confusion.

Thanks for all you do.

Unfortunately, there seems to be an issue... and, yes, I've looked at both local and non-local and I've checked my feed.

The blogroll says it was last updated just a few hours ago, but I've no clue where the posts are. (There are no post numbers listed in the blogroll for it either.)

I'm using Movable Type with an atom feed... although I have a feedburner feed too if that works better. ???

Thanks again for adding our blog!

The Texas Blue (http://www.thetexasblue.com , feed address http://www.thetexasblue.com/feed ) has not had a post indexed since about three weeks ago.

The first part of that is expected -- we had a feed problem on May 9, which made our feed go offline, and we didn't catch it for over a week. It has been fixed for a while, however, and we haven't had a post indexed ever since the problem.

And yes, I've read the post on this topic, and we've had quite a bit of local content in that time. (RSS feed, in case it matters.)

Thank you in advance for looking at this, and thank you very much for the service you provide.

Hi,

I just noticed that my site has 'refreshed' since Dec. 31-- the same day I joined. I'm not sure what is wrong. My feed works everywhere else as far as know. Perhaps this is relates to the 'atom/rss' switching problem I've seen mentioned?

Usually 'www.hells-handmaiden.com/feed' works just fine though if need be 'www.hells-handmaiden.com/wp-rss.php', 'www.hells-handmaiden.com/wp-rss2.php', or 'www.hells-handmaiden.com/wp-atom.php' can be used.

I appreciate the service provided by your aggregator, and even have your blogwire as part of my template. So I'd really appreciate if if you could find the time to diagnose the problem. Perhaps I've done something wrong.

Take care and thanks for your work here.

Dear People:

A few months back I was forced to shut down my blog, LeftIndependent blog, listed in the Pennsylvania directory due to a cyber-stalker who had hacking capabilities. I lost the right to that URL in the process. I have now opened a new replacement blog, A Left Independent, that is essentially the same blog run by the same person for the same reasons. Could you update your listings for the new URL and blog name.

THE NEW URL AND TITLE:
A Left Independent blog
http://aleftindependent.blogspot.com/

THIS BLOG NO LONGER EXIST:
LeftIndependent blog
leftindependent.blogspot.com/

Thanks.

Pat

Both "Democracy for Missouri" posts and "Show Me Progress" posts have disappeared off the Local Missouri blog roll. They are still in the "All" section there, but interestingly their icons are missing. Any reason behind this?
The latest Show Me Progress piece is very "local" on Congressman Hulshof refusal to meet with his constituents in MO 9th District.
Thanks.

My Pa. blog is at http://lehighvalleyramblings.blogspot.com/

The feed address is at http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/XtdF

In the end of August, I posted a comment to tell you none of my feeds is posting here at lefty. I have noticed this with a number of other excellent Pa. blogs, including Above Average Jane.

I loaded a blog ticker on my left sidebar that gives your site a lot of exposure. But there are other blog tickers like blognet that will include ALL the blogs subscribed.

I would prefer to keep your blog ticker. But I can't keep a blog ticker that doesn't even list the blog posts of most of the Pa. blogs subscribed and that doesn't list them on your site at all.

I have been patient with you. I would appreciate it if you could address this problem. If you can't, I will stop using your blog ticker and replace w/ blognet.

Following up my posts of 8/17 and 8/28, could you please check into why my feed is not beign picked up?

My blog is in the lineup, and I have read the page on "Why Aren't My Posts Showing Up?" and confirmed that my posts are not on the alternative page.

My blog is at http://www.ohiodailyblog.com and my feeds are at http://www.ohiodailyblog.com/rss.xml and http://www.ohiodailyblog.com/atom.xml. I have checked them and they both work.

Thank you very much for helping me with this.

I see my feed is messed up again, only showing the headline and no text. Can you look at it again?

Thanks!

First off, thanks VERY much for creating and maintaining LeftyBlogs--it's an incredible resource!

I have read the "why aren't my posts showing up" doc and have checked the Colorado combined feed (repeatedly) and have only seen posts from http://cohousedems.typepad.com a couple of times since you added us to your blogroll. (And oddly, they were title-only posts--don't know if that portends anything or not.) I've had weird off again on again posts showing from my other blog -- http://andrewromanoff.blogspot.com --so I didn't think too much about it.

Until I looked at the blogroll where it shows 10 posts for cohousedems--even though I can't find any in the actual feed.

My feeds:

rss 2.0 -- http://cohousedems.typepad.com/my_weblog/rss.xml

rss 1.0 -- http://cohousedems.typepad.com/my_weblog/index.rdf

atom -- http://cohousedems.typepad.com/my_weblog/atom.xml

Thanks again!

Hmm. . . my blogroll is appearing on my site, but the posts I've published do not show up in the list? I've checked other blogs just to be sure it isn't filtering content on my site from appearing in my roll. Not sure what's going on, can you see if dragonflyeye.net is showing up?

Recently several clearly Oregon posts of mine haven't shown up as local content. I put "Oregon" in the first few lines, along with "Measure 37." The posts are in the "all posts" section, just not the local section. They're from my HinesSight blog, dealing with Measure 37 and Measure 49.

For some reason, only the title of my posts show up on the roll. What gives?

TampaBay Blue (was TampaBay Democrat) has not updated since August.

Hi!

We added COMIDA as a NY state keyword a while back, but a recent blog post of ours containing COMIDA didn't show up. Here's the link:
