OH/VA Election Day - and Typepad Goes Down

It might be election day in Virginia and Ohio (and our traffic shows it) but that didn't stop Typepad.com -- the second most popular blogging service -- from going completely down.

So far, it's been about two hours and three of my blogs are down. Rest assured, as soon as Typepad is back up and running, all these links on LeftyBlogs.com will start working again - and we'll have some pretty rapid updates to things.

Even the Typepad status blog is down. Must be a bad, bad day at the HQ.

Update: Looks like a denial-of-service attack on Six Apart, the company that hosts TypePad:

Since approximately 4:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time, Six Apart has been the victim of a sophisticated distributed denial of service attack. This has affected all of Six Apart's sites, causing intermittent and limited availability for TypePad, LiveJournal, TypeKey, sixapart.com, movabletype.org and movabletype.com. Our network operations staff is working around the clock with our Internet access providers to resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience and support, and will provide updates as we have them.

My wife tells me that all of Six Apart is under a DoS attack--she hasn't been able to get to her LiveJournal all night.

Maybe I have been lucky; so far, so good with my two blogs. And I really love my experience with typepad.com if compared to blogspot.com
