Over 300 blogs carry the LeftyBlogs BlogWire - a self-updating chunk of HTML that features headlines from each blog's home state. LeftyBlogs is rapidly becoming a critical service for campaigns, causes, activists, journalists, and citizens interested in state and local politics.
Deploying the BlogWire costs us a lot of bandwidth - after all, it's displayed over 300,000 times each week. So, to defray expenses (and help change the world), we've added a small but powerful little advertisement to the BlogWire.
Ads run nationwide on an exclusive basis - and for a maximum run of three weeks. They're available only to "lefty" campaigns, causes, and blogs that will be of interest to our thousands of readers.
Cost: We're starting with an introductory rate of just $100/week. That's around 33 cents per thousand impressions. Not bad.
Specs: The image is 80px wide and 40px tall. You've got up to 110 characters of visible text, plus a link - which can be anywhere in that text. Italics and bold are also fine, but no linebreaks.
Contact Kari Chisholm at Mandate Media to get started.
Want to see the BlogWire in action? Here's a handful of the 300+ blogs around the country: Raising Kaine (VA), Burnt Orange Report (TX), RI Future, California Progress Report, BlueOregon, Left in the West (MT), Michigan Liberal, MN Publius, Connecticut Blog, Young Philly Politics, Left in Lowell (MA), Calitics (CA).
(If you're looking for traditional BlogAd advertising on the LeftyBlogs.com site itself, buy a BlogAd here.)

If you make it so that ads can be restricted to blogs in certain states I think you'll have more luck with campaigns. That would be smarter for just about all campaigns other than presidentials, plus the presidentials could target the readers in different states with state-specific language or graphics.

Totally agree with the state-specific targeting feature. Going to all the BlogWire blogs is way too scattershot.

I am trying to learn anything I can on Oklahoma Peerless Oil & Refining Co. oil stock that was sold around Indianaplis, Kokomo, Sharpsville in 1919.I started looking trying to help my Mom who had lost her rights and placed in a nursing home in Fla. in l998. Since them my Mom has passed-but if I can find where this stock transferred I will use the majority of my share to change the laws in Fla. to stop the elderly from losing everything includeing their freedom. Stocks must begin with Oklahoma not Peerless. Mom is an Etherington/Miler

Dear Fellow Progressives:
Many frustrated Illinois residents and voters are completely fed up with the incompetent ignorant malfeasance in office demonstrated by most of the 200 or so who serve us in Springfield. It took six extra months to obtain a budget from these yahoos, at an extra cost of many thousands. The only accountability effective against such shenanigans besides elections is a recall process; 18 of the 50 states, including Wisconsin, has recall. Let's get one going soon! Check the Illinois State Constitution; you'll see the possibility for a Constitutional Convention comes up soon.
