Net Neutrality and LeftyBlogs.com

In this week's Willamette Week newspaper (the alt-paper in Portland, Oregon) - they've got a good roundup of the net neutrality issue.

I was interviewed about LeftyBlogs.com and what it would mean if we no longer had net neutrality:

Kari Chisholm, one of the creators of the Blue Oregon blog popular with progressives, was also quick to point out the hardships the bill creates for the "tiny Internet start-ups, and the open-source community" in Portland.
Chisholm says the threat to net neutrality "is no big deal for the basic Web page" consisting mostly of print, as many blogs do.
But there are new places online "where people find out what's going on locally and nationally," he says. Sites such as leftyblogs.com feature engines that "go out and read 2,000 blogs every hour, and present their findings organized by state." That requires a lot of bandwidth, and Chisholm fears for the future of these outlets. "If the bad guys want to charge extra for high-bandwidth operations," he says, "this service will become unsustainable."

If you want to help fight the fight, there are two things you can do:

First, blog about it.
This can be a difficult, technical issue - but it's really important. Help raise the awareness of your readers. Together, all of us have millions of readers every day.

Second, send your readers to SaveTheInternet.org and MoveOn's action site.

Let's do this.

Hey, it’s so great that you’re doing this! I just wrote a comment on the MoveOn.org ActionForum, and I’d love to have your support! Here’s what I wrote:

Unify the Party and Strategize

It’s nice to talk about all the issues we care about and wish we could address, but we’re competing with a party (the GOP) that prioritizes retention of power over legitimate consideration of issues. While we shouldn’t adopt these twisted priorities ourselves, we can at least learn enough from our esteemed opponents to realize the importance of refining and focusing our platform, conveying our noble stances to the country in irrefutable layman’s terms, and employing thoughtful and effective psychology when we debate with those who disagree with us.

Check out George Lakoff’s Think Tank! I think he has the right idea. http://www.rockridgeinstitute.org

If you believe in this approach to strengthening our party, please go to here for a link to the place in the forum where you can support my view!

Thank you!!

Help get this right-wing fool thrown off the air!!!

Didn't CNN get the message from the last election....that the American public has rejected the right-wing extremist agenda?
Why is CNN giving prime-time every night to the ultra-right-wing extremist, Glenn Beck?

Please take just 10 seconds to click on this link and send a message to CNN telling them we don't want the airwaves innundated by this idiotic
low-grade right-wing propaganda!
