For about six weeks, we've had a problem with some entire state feeds not updating every hour. In some cases, it was taking 8-12 hours to update a single state.
After several attempts to fix it, we're happy to announce that the problem is truly solved. We found the bug and we squashed it.
I won't bore you with the details, but the cause was a "feature" we built in to prevent the system from crashing -- and it was outdoing itself.
Now, is it possible that a single blog might not update right away? Yes, and that's typically not a bug. If an RSS feed takes more than about 10 seconds to download, we put it on the "slowpokes" list - and we'll wait six hours before trying to update again. So, if your server's connection is jammed - or your blog is generating the RSS feed dynamically - you might be one of the handful of blogs that lives semi-permanently on the slowpokes list.
Of course, if your blog hasn't updated in days, then it's almost certain that your RSS feed is broken. Use feedvalidator.org to check your feed. Almost always, fixing your feed will fix your problem.

Hi,leftyblogs.com
In your "Collections" or elsewhere on your site are you up for adding legislative candidate websites? I think you will find mine varied and interesting. Most recent addition: check out the photos of Vietnam Veterans Memorial Dedication Ceremonies; you won't find them elsewhere. www.ratliffcforsenate.org
THANK YOU.

Hmmm... we've actually been thinking of ditching the collections, since they seem to be partly to blame for our recent slowdowns.
I'm a strong believer in focusing on your core strengths -- which, for Lefty Blogs, is all about the state feeds...
But, if we decide to go the other way, and do more collections - I've long thought that the missing link was a candidates' collection.
Thanks!

Once again, my posts with local content are not being shown in the local content page.
My last two posts had the following headlines: "Finally, Someone Asked George Allen" and "KO by Jim." The first post involved the controversy over the anger of Sen. George Allen of Virginia when a reporter's question about his granfather being a Jew and the other had to with Jim Webb, the Democratic senator candidate in Virginia.
Clearly both are local content.
Help!

I submitted a blog a long while back and still nothing. Has leftyblog began sorting through the many requests cited on September 15? Leftyblog has been linked to my progressive blog for about 2,250 readers and my entries routinely appear here. I understand that this comment might negate my request for an add and realize it's a sizable task you have before you, but a little more consideration would seem appropriate.
Thank you,
Republicus

Please review my request to add www.truthandprogress.com, which is now weeks old, so I can at least get listed here before the election. It's a great concept you have here, btw. Please let me in....

I didn't see a more apropriate place to ask this so excuse me for bringing my question here. My article "Healey Should Have Read BenLaGuer.com" seems to warrant being in the top picks page because of the number of hits it has. Is there a glitch? Thanks in advance for the answer.
